Vision: To be able to respond rapidly to young people in crisis/need through means of a Text response that is at low cost/free to the young person.

This project was piloted through Blue Coat School in Coventry, local Church Youth Groups, Connexions and is being advertised on De Courcey's School Buses throughout Coventry and Warwickshire.

The service is continuing to be available following the completion of a 3 month pilot in June 2008. We are currently holding a competition to redesign the publicity and plan a full re-launch with the new publicity early in 2009. We will also be looking to us the service in other ways to get views from young people on certain topics.

We still need new volunteers to help and extend our opening hours. A brief outline of what is needed is below. 

ROLE: To respond to texts from people from a home based broadband computer location.

TIME COMMITMENT: 3 HOURS per Week 7 - 10pm initially

SKILLS REQUIRED: Good Computer Keyboard skills and Internet knowledge. Awareness of issues facing young people. You are not required to text on a mobile phone. TRAINING will be given and support. CRB Check Required.
