Community Award from Grace AcademyBy John Pither - Added 24th of July 2009Coventry City Mission held a party on Thursday July 2nd to thank all the students from Grace Academy, Coventry, who had helped in the cafe and shop during the past academic year. Over 30 of the 45 students who have taken part in this community project of Grace Academy attended, along with Bob Edmiston (Chair of Governors), Tracie Edmiston (Director), Gary Spicer (Diretcor) and Steve Allen, Principal of Grace Academy. Prior to the formal procedings the students were given BBQ food and taught how to juggle tennis balls. Coventry City Mission were presented with Grace Academy's Community Award for 2008 - 2009 in recognition of the opportunities we had given Grace Academy Students to do community service with us. CCM also presented awards to some of students under the categories of Best Male Server, Best Female Server, Most Memorable Female Student, Most Memorable Male Student and Student of the Year. There was a special award to Dave Boden, Youth Co-ordinator at Grace Academy, as the Best Adult Server! The whole event was a great succes despite being one of hottest days of the year. CCM is looking forward to both continuing and strengthening its links with Grace Academy in 2009 -2010.
