CAFÉ AND SHOP
Café ("The Eating Place")
‘The Eating Place’ café is now ‘pay what you can'
Following a year-long pilot project CCM’s ‘Eating Place’ café has become a pay-what-you-can café.
Where is the menu?
The menu can now be seen on the two specials boards by the kitchen hatch.
Each day we will have breakfast specials from 9-12 noon and then there will be a number of lunchtime specials on offer from 12 – 2 pm.
There will also be a selection of sweet treats and drinks on offer.
- If your pockets are full, pay a bit more.
- If your pockets are light, pay what you can.
- If your pockets are empty, pay nothing and enjoy your meal on us!
When are you open?
The café will be open Tuesday – Thursday between 9 am till 2 pm
Why are you doing this?
The Eating Place is a not-for-profit, pay-what-you-can community café run by the staff and volunteers of Coventry City Mission.
We want our café to be a safe and accessible place for people to come and enjoy a nice meal without the worry of whether they can afford it.
This is one of the many ways we aim to show our clients and customers the love of Jesus.
Who is welcome?
Anyone is welcome to join us, so please tell you friends! We hope the café will continue to be an important place in the community where people can come together and have a nice time.
We hope that those who can afford to pay something will help us to cover the costs for those who can’t.
We are in one of the most needy areas of Coventry so it is not surprising that the take up on such provision by the local community is good. It shows that we are meeting a real need. We are always pleased to receive clean good quality second-hand clothing to sell.
The shop is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.
If you could spend a few hours each week helping us in either the Café or Shop, do get in touch. Our "Contact Us" page tells you how.
